When times were a little bit more interesting, one man inhabited minds of people who thought (and probably still think) of themselves as 'in the know'. By many the latter are more likely to be depicted as 'a grumpy bunch of fools who can't do anything but criticise and moan about what others do', but it's obviously not the point of this note to be about critics. So, that peculiar man was Witold Gombrowicz - an author who actually shed some light on a burning problem of Form. At this moment you probably ponder on why I decided to write about him. Well, he was in the habit of making sure that all his works are well understood - like being one's own reviewer-cum-psychoanalyst. The moral for today is - don't await the same from me.
